Villages of Montesquieu

Situated to the south of Bordeaux, the territory of Montesquieu has thirteen villages stretching from the bocage to the Garonne river between vineyards and pine forest. From wine-growing villages to historic villages, passing through the picturesque ports on the banks of the Garonne, discover the charm of the Bordeaux countryside.

In the centre of the area, La Brède has retained the spirit of Montesquieu with its sumptuous feudal castle surrounded by an English-style garden. To the north, the villages of Léognan, Martillac and Cadaujac are renowned for the elegance of their wines, classified growths in the prestigious "Pessac-Léognan" appellation area.

To the west, Saucats, which is home to the Saucats-La Brède geological nature reserve, is the largest commune. To the south, Cabanac-Villagrains and its neighbouring villages of Saint-Morillon and Saint-Selve preserve a rich historical heritage of Romanesque churches, fountains and washhouses. To the east, you will be charmed by the villages on the banks of the Garonne: Saint-Médard-d'Eyrans, Ayguemorte-les-Graves, Isle-Saint-Georges, Beautiran and Castres-Gironde.
