Château Carbonnieux

In the heart of Pessac-Léognan, Château Carbonnieux, Grand Cru Classé de Graves in white and red, is one of the oldest and largest properties in the Bordeaux region.
Founded in the 13th century by the Benedictine Monks of the Abbey of Sainte-Croix de Bordeaux, Château Carbonnieux has cultivated vines without interruption.
Its imposing Perigordian-style architecture, dating from the late Middle Ages, conceals a magnificent inner courtyard within its fortified walls. Unique in Bordeaux, its vineyard at the top of a beautiful group of Graves has the peculiarity of being half white and half red. It represents the largest surface area of white among the classified growths.
The reputation of Château Carbonnieux wines has been built over the centuries with the contribution of people such as Thomas Jefferson, the Sultant of Constantinople and the monk Dom Galléas.
